What?? MOAR Clouds?!?! [Update]
You betcha, guess who’s entering the cloud game now? Nope, you’re wrong, it’s LG. LG! Yes, right behind Google and Drive, Apple and iCloud, Dropbox, Box, etc. etc. etc. (I definitely needed 3 etc’s) LG is adding their ‘LG Cloud’ on May 1st. Beta that is, can’t rush things.
LG’s cloud will work like other and allow you to store and stream media from various sources (smartphones, tablets, PC, SmartTV, and set-tops). LG will be adding an app on to the Google Play Store soon, which will help you better manage and synchronize your up/downloads, and make them available on all devices “almost instantaneously.” And LG is even allow 3D photos and Videos…..woo hoo. -_-
The service will have free and paid versions, which are supposed to vary from devices, but the detes shan’t be announced until around when the service rolls out. Damn, dat grammar b nice.
From the details of their service, this doesn’t look like something to battle Dropbox, Min.Us, or Drive but more so to battle the services of Youtube, Picasa, Flickr and the like.
UPDATE: If you become a regular LG Hub user you shall receive 5Gb worth of storage, while if you were to have an LG device you would receive 50GB worth of storage free (For 6mo, no word on afterwards rules). Make sure you download the app and also go to the online hub to get started.
Will you be trying it out?
