Here’s a quick little note for all of you out there who own a Nexus Q (and those of you who are awaiting those back-ordered shipments, as well). The YouTube app for Android has just received a small update, mostly containing bugfixes, but also including support for the “Q”.

There’s also a fix for older devices, allowing users to use their phone as a remote, to play YouTube videos on other devices. That’s all for now, but even those of you who don’t own a Nexus Q will want to update ASAP, as bugfixes are always a good thing, too.

Have a look below at the changelog (in case you didn’t believe what I’ve already told you), then hit up the download link at the bottom of the post to either update, or grab a fresh install.

What’s in this version:

Android 4.0+ devices: v.4.0
* Nexus Q support
* Bugfixes
Earlier Android devices: v.2.5
* Nexus Q support
* Turn your phone into a remote, to play YouTube videos on other devices

[UPDATE]

Droid-Life has spotted that the Nexus Q and Play Movies & TV apps have also been updated.

For the Q app, it now supports Android devices running 2.3.3+ which should make Gingerbread owners a bit happier once they receive their Nexus Q in the mail. Lastly, the Play Movies & TV app has been beefed up with faster downloads and a playback fix which plagued a few LG devices.

Go grab the updates in Google Play and enjoy your content to the fullest extent.
